yo, kay spring hill is awesome to learn at, but once you learn, it sucks. the only challenging trail hasnt been open in more than like 4 years, and it totally ruins my parallel skiing and automatically changes it to a wedge because its granular sucks. the icyness is actually for once a challenge, but then that wierd granular crap comes back to haunt you. its too frestyle there, cuz i like took a lesson and im like advanced and they were teaching me rails when i wanted to go fast and carve it uppp. theres not much variety here, and if you want to do NASTAR, dont count on lil old spring hill. if you want more of a race place, go to the poconos.

We went there to go tubing. We paid for our tickets, and went out to the mountain. When we got to the top, they told us we had to lay on our stomachs and drag your feet from top to bottom. We took one run to get back down and our backs couldn't take any more. They refused to give us a refund, but with some persistance, they only gave us half of our $60 back, because they said all of the information was on the release that we signed. I went and got a copy of the release to show them that it was not on the release, but they still refused.
I've been tubing at other resorts, and in my opinion, this one doesn't even compare. I beleive that you have to lay on your stomach so that you can drag your feet, otherwise you will slam into the backstop at the bottom of the mountain.
Went to the mountain 2/28 to take a lesson since I thought I could teach myself to snowboard bad idea. The good news was my instructor a cute little bunny named Jen was excellent and had me actually linking turns after a few runs down the mountain. The bad news was all the school kids who thought they could ski and really turned the mountain into a dangerous place if your weren't watching your back. The mountain was also icy but I mainly went there due to the reviews on here about the instructors and that was spot on.
I took my young kids (ages 5 and 8) to Spring Mountain so they could learn to ski, and they had a great time. Spring Mountain is only 20 minutes from King of Prussia, so it is close to anyone living in the Philadelphia area. We went on a Sunday and the lift line waits were under a minute. The staff was very friendly and the kids learned a lot in ski school. They went from never having put skis on in the morning, to going up the chair lift by the end of the day.
If you want to learn to ski, or teach a friend to ski, this is the place for you. It is cheap, close to Philly, and you park right behind the lodge.
There is no real exciting terrain here, so if that is what you want go elsewhere.

More like Spring Hill. By far the worst mountain I have ever been to. The terrain park (If you can even call it that) has like 2 jumps and 3 rails. The worst part is that the terrain park side of the mountain isn't even open for half the season. The mountain has like 3 trails that are all short and icy. If you feel like going up the lift which takes 5 minutes and going down in 2 minutes than this is the place for you.

Spring Mount is a learning ski place. If you want to take your family for a day to learn and spend time together, then this is definaltely the place to go. It is rather inexpensive and close to the philadelphia region. The staff is pleasent and helpful although they do need to work on their manners a little.
If your are a young kid and looking to goof around and have a good time you need to think twice about being their, it is a family oriented place and caters to the beginners. If you have experience and looking to get serious take the time to travel to the bigger resorts where you can have a better time..

I am new to skiing, but have been to big boulder, bear creek, and today spring mountain. The staff was very friendly, and helpful.I was hesitant to ski there because i read some negative reviews about the staff, but wanted to check for myself. On the line for the chairlifts there were some snowboard kids cutting in line, and in the line itself there were some kids pushing and slapping each other, but this was quickly stopped by the staff.(if that is being rude on the staffs part, then so be it)they are there to make our visit a pleasant one,and i give them their props.Bottom line...this is a great family friendly place, and definately recommend it!

Great hill to learn at,bring your kids. Awesome instructors. Fun, reasonable hill to ski with friends. I have the best memories of Spring Mountain.
