Fairways are in very poor shape! If it's your first time don't expect any hole layouts or tee box hole views, good luck figuring some of them out. No range! They say the do on there web site, "maybe next year, we had some drainage problems" they tell you. NO ammenities to speak of, 2 years after there opening? Total lack of course management and did I mention the lack of grass in and around the fairways? The only compliment I have is very nice greens. Overall I sugggest looking for another course for the next few years.

I dont see how any of you could give this resort a 5. Ive skied all across the Northeast and the poconos are the worst to ski. Bad conditions unless you get pounded by a nice storm. The lifts are slow. The conditions are usually icy, and its crowded on the weekends.

Jack Frost may only have a 600 foot vert. That being said they do a lot with the limited height they have. They have a smart trail layout with the easier stuff to the west side and harder as you move east on the trail map. Families and beginners have plenty on the west side while the experts stay on the east side. Some of the blues in between (Lehigh) are a nice warm up for East Mt. And speaking of East Mt. there are some really fun steeps and bumps there (though a bit short lived). Signs are prominant warning skiers and riders that East Mt. is expert only terrain. For me, what makes JF really stand out is their glades. JF is the only area in Northeast PA that allows tree skiing, and after a snow fall it's really fun. In addition to that snow and grooming is usually really good.

We've stayed at Snow Ridge village townhomes for 2 different years now, to ski at Jack Frost in February. We're a family of 5, with an advanced skiier, intermediate skiier and beginner skiier, the latter who loves Snow Monsters, the ski school for kids at Jack Frost.
I learned to ski at Jack Frost in the Discovery program and would recommend it to anybody.
Snow Ridge Village townhomes are within walking distance of the lodge, and can vary according to owner. We like the Lehigh II models which have 2 br, a loft and sky lights with cathedral ceiling.
Only thing I think Jack Frost is lacking is an indoor heated athletic center, including swimming pool, for overnight guests to use. And I am hoping that once the Jack Frost National golf course is completed, that cross country skiing will be available on it during winter.
Townhomes come with full kitchens but if you want to eat out a lot, you have to drive a lot. But I myself am glad it is not all crowded and built-up with tons of national chain restaurants everywhere.
The snow tubing is a blast but for a family of 5 for 2 hours, you put down $100. Our first year the lift tickets for snow tubing were included with our overnight lodging price; so was ski school/lessons along with equipment rental and lift tickets. It was sweet but then this year, the lessons and snow tubing passes were gone.

Excellent Ski Area! Very Family Friendly!

Spent 2 weekends there, and it was wonderful. We are a mainly advanced-intermediate family and it was wonderful.

The terrain is nice, especially the moguls on Thunderbolt and Floyds Folly.

The Snow was also great!

It was a blast for us all.

Keep up the GREAT work!

Great time this week @ JFBB. The conditions were great. There were no lift lines on Wednesday/Thursday. Saturday had 5 min. wait to get on the lifts at the bottom of the Blue trails, no line for the lifts that service the Diamond trails. Great place to bring the family.

I have been at jfbb and it is way to flat. the diamond terrain and difficulty is close to none and it was a waste of my time at jf.

Although the conditions this past weekend were excellent. I found the new management does not care about the safety of it's skier customers. They were blowing snow on Thunderbolt. Not a bad thing in itself but, the trail was open for skiing. There was enough snow on this trail to give JF regulars a 3rd "black" trail to ski on instead of only challanger and one trail at East. They would be better off making the snow on trails that needed snow and not on a trail that had sufficient.

Heard through the rumor vine on Saturday;

The new management won't blow snow during the week when traffic is at its lightest due to the commercial cost of power being higher.
IS THIS FOR REAL!!

AS A RESULT OF THAT I AM LETTING THEJFMANAGEMENT KNOW THAT ON WEDNESDAY I WON'T BE THERE AS I AM SKIING AT BELLAYRE OR HUNTER. GO AHEAD AND MAKE SNOW.

After the much anticipated ski season start and with Peak Resorts in the drivers seat, JF and BB have impressed me. The quirky lodge has a better traffic flow, and Jacks Pit and free ski/board check help with a bigger mountain feel. Snowmaking has been aggressive and paid off during this winters lean conditions. Terrain parks and free-skiing areas have good coverage and a nice contour.Big Boulder Park rides like Vermont. The 'scene' is definately more upscale and long overdue.
