This place is a joke, the help is rude and conditions on the day I was there were unbelieveable (bad).I know the season is over, but I am just getting around to writing a review with the hope of helping people who may be interested in visiting next year.Unless major changes are made forget this place.

Big Bear was terrible. I only wanted to go there because I thought it would'nt be crowded. It was so crowded because it was extremely small. The ski rentals took about 2 hours. There werent any challenging trails. and the worst part was there was only 3 ski lifts so the lines were so long with everyone pooring into them. After all my years of sking I have never gone to a worst place. Don't go to Big Bear you will regret it!!!

A great family ski place, not for the super skier,
but still challenging enough for the rest of us.One thing they do need is a drop spot on the lifts for those empty beer cans, like all the other ski places have. Also the trails at night are not well lite, in most cases this would be a promblem but if your trying to get your groove on behind a tree right off the trail its perfect. I HIGHLY recommend going to Big Bear with the family, but bring grama or the nanny with you so you and the wife/girl friend could hit the bar for a few and really have some fun (you know what I mean)

great family oriented ski resort. within a close ride of nyc. great people and clean facilities. A definite return run to do. No the balck diamond runs are limited but for most skiers with varied family abilities it is a great overall experience.

On march 18th 2007, I called Big Bear to inquire about the price of a half- day pass/lift ticket. I have gotten hold of one of your many rude staff members!!!!!! I was told by this rude individual that the line in front of her is getting longer ( This occured while she spent less than 2 minutes on the phine with me) It is not my problem that your line is getting backed-up. Maybe, your resort should hire more employees, and while doing your screening... dont forget to pay attention to those who knows how to act like a human being. When you encounter them, please hire them on the spot.

Big bear is a great family place to ski. Season passes are cheap and besides Holiday weekends slopes are not overcrowded. Lifts are alittle slow but why you are riding them you can see great views and breath fresh country air.

I do not believe the 12/28/06 post is about Big Bear in PA, perhaps Montana?
This Big Bear is a small family oriented place. They have a nice brand new lodge with cafetaria and a seperate pub and restaurant. Not a bad place to start the kids off. A couple of trails may still be open, we were there last Friday and Saturday when it was in the low 40's. A couple of nice B&B's in Hawley, and some motels and decent restaurants. Not too far is a bowling alley, indoor amusement center and movie theater in Honesdale for non-ski days. Both BB and Tanglwood normally have tubing but neither was open yet. Very low-key and laid back, and off the beaten track.

I enjoyed my stay in Big Bear. My favorite parts were the rides and attractions at Big Bear's Magic Moutain, the slopes, and the general hospitality of the locals. I recommend renting a Cabin because the Big Bear experience is just better, when living in a cabin surrounded by snow and fresh mountain air. Also, I loved the little shops in Big Bear's Village Market Place (Gifts and Souvenirs). Thank you for the memories...
