We visited twice during our trip around the USA in February and March 2008. Our first on-snow day of our trip was at Timberline and it was an amazing day. It had been snowing all night, and so we had lots of lovely fresh to play in. Not all of the lifts were open (it was a Friday) but those that were kept us happy.

We revisited a few days later when more of the mountain was open, and the visibility was better and had some great times snowboarding around the tree runs.

We didn't make use of the park facilities, or the apres facilities as we were staying 20 minutes drive or so away. The lunch options were good at the lodge though so I imagine good food and drink options would be available.

I really like Timberline as place for the family to ski. Not the toughest skiing around, but plenty of good runs (a few flat ones too that you want to avoid).

For $99 the Spring pass was fantastic this year. We got up to the hill 10 times.

The staff is great - way better than Meadows, where I feel like I am at a jr. high football game.

after spending the past 7 years at meadows, one winter working at timberline will have me stay there for as long as im in the northwest. the vibe and the people at meadows aren't worth supporting and the season pass deals are absurd. although not the most challenging, there are some great tree riding and powder on molly's if you know where you're going. the park crew really cares about the park and they keep it groomed, even during the week (unlike other hood resorts). for $299 you get a timberline and skibowl pass. skibowl is awesome for night riding and as long as it's snowing in govy, you will find sick powder runs in the upper bowl. the staff and management are all great people and everyone seems to take pride in what they do.

Only summer is worth it. Come winter, I would go to just about any other resort first. The "steeps" are terrible - the few are really not that steep. Too many times you hit a flat spot and have to hope to keep speed, when a blue or black run suddenly turns really really green. It is not challenging, it is simply old and overrated. Lodge is cool though.

I came to Timberline because SUMMER SUCKS!!! The ONLY runs in USA during the summer, and I had a blast, especially after another rider helped me out with a riding tip. The hill is good enough, though they didn't make it known that there was a run to the lodge from the main snowfield...rats, I missed doing the whole hill!! I'll be back as often as I can get to Oregon in summer...

Nice family ski area. Not very challenging for the intermediate to advanced skier; no techincal steeps, etc. Fair for the price, but many come here for the Lodge atmosphere first and skiing second. Nice lodge, good food, but abit spendy.
