A truly wonderful ski area, close to NYC, and to date, undiscovered by the masses. Loads of room on the trails, no lift lines, reasonable lift ticket prices, courteous staff, and terrific snow that seems never to get skied off. What a find!!

I go to plattekill just about every weekend. It is no doubt the best mountain i have ever been to. when there is fresh pow its the place to be. ther is intensity there for those who desire an adreniline rush, or you can stick to the greens and blues. A great family mountain and ver freindly(you can ski with the owner and his family) I have had and season pass there fo four years and it is definatly worth it.

I have skiied here once before. I was there on March 10th and ski conditions were great with no lift lines. There is no place like this place. It is 2.5 hours away from New York Metro area. As a result almost everybody pulls in at Belleayre which you have to pass on the way. The plusses are 34 trails with only 2 non high speed lifts. This means a wonderful amount of elbow room on the slopes. Many slopes do not have snow making so you can't just decide to go here. You have to to wait until real snowfall. My only complaint is that everybody brings there full pile of junk into the lodge from their car and then leaves it piled high on top of and underneath every single table in the lodge. As a result when you come into the lodge for lunch there is no place to sit down and eat since all of the tables are empty of people but unusable due to the massive pile of personal stuff piled on top of and beneath the tables.

My two sons and I skied Plattekill on Friday March 9th, Conditions were great all trails open, fresh pow left over from a storm during the week. Great terrain with nice steeps and moguls and my son's favorites narrow trails. Trails all end right at lifts ,so no flat skiing down to a lift at this place. Staff was very friendly, no crowds, no fear of gear being stolen. If there is natural snow on the ground in the Catskills, this is the place to be!!!
