This review is coming from someone who has both worked and had a season pass to peek n peak over the last decade. The positives include: excellent snow making and grooming(by far the best in western NY), a decent ski school, a lack of crowds considering the location and LOTS of infrastructure-pk n pk is 3/4 family resort 1/4 ski area.

The main draw back about this place is the terrain, you have your choice of either low angle groomers or three bump runs of varying steepness. I know this in western ny but keep in mind this place has by far the most boring terrain of all the ski hills in the region as well as the shortest runs(400' vertical drop). This is why the pk is a family place.

What else is there to pknpk? They have a decent and improving kids race team. They sometimes close one of the four main chair lifts for a couple weeks for silly things like christmas light shows and snowmobile races. The typical skier here to be blunt is very bad, you will see lots of people walking down flat groomers. In that respect its kinda more like skiing in north carolina than new york.

Pknpk is perfect for families but if you want real skiing keep on driving.

I visited pk n pk resort on March 15 2008. I was plesently suprised on the condition of the snow, for spring time. I have been snowboarding for a few years now but never out of Ohio. The best thing about the whole resort is how the lift attendent didn't let the lift bash you in the back of your knees. The lifts can be brutal in the backs of your legs. Only thing that was sub-par about pk n pk was the food prices. My advice is to pack a lunch. However, I can't wait to come back.

I have four children and Peek N Peak has been an outstanding experience for us. The Instructors have been very accomadating and helpful with the kids. Joe the lead snowboard instructor has made sure that my children as well as anyone I have seen him interact with, have a pleasent experience. He really loves his job and it shows with his attitude and friendliness. We have been to ski resorts on the west coast and can honestly say that Peek N Peak is a much better experience. I would recomend it to anyone with children.

We have been to PknPk for three years in a row now....My husband, 3 children and I do the "stay and play" package at the Inn. It's pure entertainment and family fun with the choices of skiing, swimming or playing in the play area. The food choices are adequate and fine for dining with children. Terrain is easy to navigate and certainly "boosts" young skiers confidence when they say they ski black diamonds! ( which would most likely be an intermediate run elsewhere ) Our kids count down the days to this family get away.....and until they can handle a trip out west, we'll be coming back to the Peek.

Took my 3 children skiing at the Peak. The ski instructor (Jeff) was awesome. So kid friendly which made it enjoyable for the kids. Love the resort and love the skiing too! Been back twice and going back again!

I skied at Peak'n Peek quite a bit back in the 80's when I lived in Akron, OH. I have a family now and my 4 year old is just starting to ski. I wanted to take him on a ski vacation, but didn't want to overwhelm him with a big, crowded resort.

We skied Sunday 1/28-1/30 using The Peek's "Ski and Stay" package. It was very inexpensive for three people (wife, son, myself) to stay at The Inn at the Peek and ski for three days. We enrolled the 4 year old in the Peek'n Kids ski program and he did great. By the end of 2 sessions in the Peek'n Kids program, my 4 year old was doing a pretty good wedge, turning and stopping and riding "the big lift" to the top of the mountain.

Overall our visit was outstanding! There was 22" of new lake effect show, blue skis and overall great conditions. The skiing was excellent! My wife and son enjoyed the very wide runs and there was absolutely zero lift lines on Monday and Tuesday (very short on Sunday). The Inn was very nice, especially for the package price (nearly free compared to 3 days of lift passes at full price). The pool and hot tub area are first rate and the indoor playground is very good for the little ones.

My only negative comment was that the food service was a bit slow in all 3 restaurants we visited in the Inn (making it difficult with a cranky, hungry and tired 4 year old). However, Jody's Java was a great place for breakfast.

If you want to go on a nice family ski trip and you're within driving distance of Peak'n Peek (Erie, PA area), by all means, check them out. However, if you like to ski steep and/or technical terrain, this is not the place for you. The entire ski are can be skied by almost anyone with intermediate skills and much of it can be enjoyed by novices.

Loved the Peek, great skiing, great staff and wonderful accomodations. My family and I stayed on the top of the hill in the Canterbury units, #8283, g-kids were able to go outside and play in the snow because its on the golf course side, ski lift right across road from us. Unit beautiful, plenty of ammenities, great plasma tv, in fact, tvs in every room, games, cards, etc..great family fun. It made us feel at home. I love to cook and hate to say it but the kitchen and all of its extras far exceeded what I have at home. Will recommend this particular unit to all of our friends! Restaurants were great, can't say enough, we'll be back!!!

My husband and I learned to ski and snowboard at the Peek, my kids (now with kids of their own ) learned to ski at the Peek and now my grandkids are skiing and snowboarding with lessons at the Peek. We bring all our friends who can and cannot ski to the Peek. It is the most user friendly with the greatest staff. We have never been dissapointed with the staff, instructors, kids ski school, hotel staff (we stay and play once or twice a year). This is the only family friendly ski resort around and we ski Seven Springs, Holiday Valley, Hidden Valley and Blue Knob, but only take our grandkids to the Peek. We have been going to the Peek for over 25 years. The peek is a great place to learn to handle all the challenges of skiing and if you can ski everything at the peek comfortably then nothing out west will overwhelm you.

Spent 1/22 - 1/24 at Peek 'n Peak for a business meeting that included an afternoon of skiing and lessons for those interested. Skiing was fantastic and the lesson was great. The ski instructor, John, was really good and even spent an extra 30 minutes on the lessson. "I even plan to go skiing with my son the next time he goes snow boarding! I had tried skiing about 20 years ago and it was a diaster, however this time it was different. Thanks, John and the Peek."
