If you live in the Binghamton area I highly suggest you go to ELK instead, it is only ten minutes farther in the opposite direction down route 81 instead of north, but well worth the drive. They groom like pros, make snow when and where they need to, and the service is second to NONE. Quads? - got em, 4 hr day ticket?, got em, good food?, got it. My personal favorite about avoiding Greek - ski reports that are not LIES. You pretty much have to discount Wes's Greek snow report by 50% because you are not going to see the lifts and trails reported as open most of the time he says. It's kind of like "gotcha" the minute you roll in the parking lot. Greek could take lessons from them in EVERY ASPECT of the operation from ELK. Krygers have lost sight of the fact that their "pipe dream destination resort at Greek" centers around the skiing and the mountain. If they continue to let the resort fall into a state of disrepair the "destination resort" will be an even bigger joke than it already is and the passholders will be dropping like flies. If you want the loudmouth obnoxious downstaters and New Jersey folks that you try to avoid at Hunter then Greek will be the place for you because they are marketing to them heavily. Greek is truly a second rate operation.

I've been skiing here almost 18 years of my life... and this mountain has been great to me, never had any problems. The ski patrol is great! One minor thing, the lifts do need to be improved, other than that i travel an hour and a half away to come skiing i have a few ski resorts around were i live half twenty minutes to a half hour away, and choose to come to greek theres a lot of runs to choose, and i really like their staff... KEEP up the GOOD WORK!

I would go to greek more often if they groomed better. It can get pretty dangerous and not much fun. I also think they should offer a 4 hour lift ticket during day-light hours!

Hey skiiers, whats up? I've been skiing at Greek Peak for 30 yrs(my local resort). Hate to sound negative, but here's the real truth... Greek Peak needs major improvements!! Especially the lifts. I've spent more time in lines and on the lifts than on the slopes. Prices are rediculous! Skiing at Greek Peak at best is simply just O.K.
Management: please fix your lifts.

I've had 59 days at Greek Peak this season. All kinds of conditions with highly variable weather this year. Mostly the area makes the best of the natural snow with a lot of snowmaking. Today (Feb 19)was a fabulous day with about 4 Inches of powder on a groomed hard pack base.
Early risers had first tracks for half the morning. The best skiing in central New York.

greek peak monday was pretty nice but there was only 3 lifts open when they said they were running 5 and they claimed all but 6 or 7 trails were open when ALOT more than that were closed. the trails that were open were nice with little ice. the lift employes were super nice as usual.

Greek Peak is a great day spot, especially for beginners. They have a great beginner package; lift, lesson and rental for beginners is only $20. What a bargain! Super people, everyone is so friendly, feels like family from the moment you drive into the parking lot with every attendant waving to you. A definite must ski for beginners in the area! The trails are well groomed too. Slow lifts, but very relaxing atmosphere.

Greek Peak is close by and has decent runs for a small Upstate NY mountain. However, they are outrageously overpriced and the owners have the idea in their heads that Greek is a resort in Colorado. They have poor maintenance habits and need a lesson in snowmaking and grooming badly. The area has a lot of potential but I'm afraid it is being wasted on useless endeavors like Hope Lake. Fix yours lifts, groom your trails, and find some common sense. I would rather drive 20 minutes out of my way to Labrador or Song to avoid skiing over rocks and waiting in lift lines.

Excellent experience yesterday. They had an excellent base with no bare spots or "snow snakes" showing through at all. The conditions reminded me of the rockies yesterday on the open blue and black runs with 1 to 2 inches of loose over packed powder and no ice at all. Green runs were pristine cordoroy finish. Active snowmaking was in place on other parts of the mountain as they prepare the base there to open fully as demand warrants. Cafeteria food was great, Bar was great, staff were friendly and talkative, and plenty of parking. The small Terrain park was open with great conditions, and the medium and large terrain parks were being worked on diligently to open soon. Great experience.
