This place is a great deal for the basic skiier or skiier who doesn't wish to fight the crowds. The cost of a lift ticket is reasonable. You can bring your own picnic and apres-ski beverages to enjoy, or you can visit their cafe and/or bar area for a variety of offerings. There's also a nice, little sunken-in lounge/fireplace to enjoy. The people who work there are as friendly toward you as you are toward them (if you catch my drift). The place isn't huge but does offer a variety of slopes and intermingled trails. There is a terrain park for snowboarders that's off to one side of the resort, and being a skiier, I like it that way!! In my opinion, this place is a well-kept secret :)
I love cockaigne, have been going there for about 6 years now, good people, good service, no lines what else do you people need on the slopes?

Foe years I have enjoyed the slopes for a day. I believe it is more fun then Peek n Peek because it is less crowded. and seems more challenging.
I definitely like the price. Last time I was there the dog teams were training. Just a great place. Many great memories over the years with John and Pat.

Everyone needs to stop complaining about this place. They don’t advertise themselves as a world class resort, so don’t go there expecting to see one. They are not rude, they just don’t put up with people complaining about what they don’t have. Cockaigne is a cheap but great place to go to for a day to brush up on basic riding skills and have a relaxing day out before you hit a resort with nice jumps and rails. I have loved going to Cockaigne since I was 6 years old and still enjoy it as much as I ever did.

Great place to Ski for a day. Look forward to it every year. The Main Lodge was moved there from NY World Fair in the 60's and was the Austrian Bldg. Usually has great Snow. No crowds, Lift lines are short. We have always had a good time skiing. Parking is no problem. Jim Janek Howland, Ohio

I had a terrible time at this resort. The service was terrible. The man running the rental shop was not certified to set up bindings. He had no business setting up my skis. The terrain was very boring--you could not get cooking on any hill except for the main hill. Overall, the people running this resort are very rude. The terrain is very boring. I will not ski here again.
