Mountain Creek is probably one of the worst ski resort in this area. But i do have to give them credit for something. They do manage the amount of people who go there daily pretty well. I have been to places that the wait was a lot longer. But that's were it end. The terrain and grooming at this resort is very poor. That's due to the weather that we get here in nj. Also the trails are way to small for the amount of people on the mountain. It seems like they try to fit as many trails as possible thus making the trails smaller. I personally would rather have less trails but trails are wider. I think what makes this resort bad is a mix between its location in nj and the fact that they can't groom if their lives depend on it. In the end I would rather spend another couple of hours going to a mountain that i way better then mountain creek.

look at the clientell at this place, its not the Mountians fault that they get all the idiots from the city on the weekends. Go during the week and the place is yours. It has decent vert for NJ, rember people its NJ not VT or CO. Even in the northeast or the west you have to wait in lift lines on the weekends. They did a decent job of keeping snow on the ground in a winter of over feezing temps most of the season. They have one of the most medicaly trained ski patrol in the area also. Yes its busy Yes its icy or hardpack, but for the love of the sport your still making turns, Nunter might have more challanging stuff but the people are still comeing from the city, People have no room to complain, if you dont like it ski somewhere else. Try Shawnee for you idoits that dont relize what you have. Or would you rather hidden with all four of its slopes. Come on people. I think the complainers are wimps and really not true skiers that are just happy to still be able to make turns.

another lost year at the most pathetic excuse for a ski resort on the face of the earth. since the mid 1970.s I have made the 40 minute trek to ski at this dump and every year I SWEAR I would never come back. But come late fall I talk myself into thinking maybe... just maybe it might be tolerable enough , but the over crowding and sh*t conditions continue.
I wish this place goes bankrupt and stops operation so I will be forced to take the 2 hour ride to Hunter. ( A far better run mt. )
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Mountian creek is an all right place. Druing the weekend all the people from NYC come to MC than it sucks And the trails are narrow.U have to wait 30 minutes on line. During the week i go after school and theres no one there its good than. I live right in town and worked there so i know the workers. The South terrian park is preddy good. It really is for beigenners. I you are a good skiier/snowboader and hate terrian parks don't bother. If you like terrian parkes go there

Went skiing at South yesterday. Conditions were terrible! I understand its spring and all, but make snow and maintain it or close for the season. The half pipe had a large bare spot towards the end. The landing zones coming off the rails were uneven ditches which forced me to loose control after landing. The jumps were totally unmaintained. Its like management said F*** it, lets see home much $ we can make without spending a dime.

The conditions were absolutely horrible yesterday. I thought maybe I was just spoiled by going to Vermont yearly, but seeing all the other reviews here reaffirms my belief that things were just bad.

First of all, we drove the couple hours up from south jersey, pull up to Vernon Peak, and things were completely deserted. Apparently, they decided to only have South open, but there was no indication of this on the website or at the actual mountain until you pull up at the main hill, get out, and realize that everything is locked down. Plus, there's the issue that the part of the park they chose to keep open was the terrain park. Now, I'm switching from skiing to snowboarding, and yesterday was the 4th day I've ever been on a snowboard. I want nothing to do with a terrain park at this point. However, we had driven up there so we decided to make the best of it and board anyway.

The rental shop gave me boots that were too large because they didn't have my size (or any half sizes). I could feel my heels slip up every time I went to do anything on my toe-side.

The lifts were decent. No lines, ran quickly, didn't get stopped at all (except when some people decided they were going to ride the lift back down and just didn't get off at the top).

The snow conditions started out as your typical NJ/PA fare, (ice/hard pack) and continued to get worse throughout the day. When we quit at 3:30, there were large patches of slush and mud on the slopes because everything was melting.

There were only two lifts open, so everything was pretty crowded. As a boarding n00b, I was pretty intimidated by the more experienced boarders and skiers wizzing by me, and I'm sure they weren't thrilled about me and the other people who belonged on green/blue hills clogging up their terrain park. However, provided you are capable of controlling your skiing or riding, the obstacles were easy enough to avoid and the actual difficulty level of the slopes themselves were not too bad. The worst parts were the flat runs where, unless you get enough speed (and you usually don't because somebody falls in front of you or something) you have to unstrap and glide across. There are two of these areas in the run we spent most of our time on, and it gets old after awhile.

All in all, it was pretty bad. I still enjoyed myself, and I think being forced onto terrain I didn't expect helped me improve my skills. However, I am glad I didn't pay full price for the ticket ($15 is what I paid due to one of their deals going on) otherwise I would have been rather upset. I don't plan on going back again either. Next time I will hit Blue Mountain or something instead.

Bad,Bad,How these people have the nerve to ask for the prices they are getting for lift tickets is beyond me.The good news is: Last to open and first to close, then we can try a few places with SNOW.I feel bad for all those season ticket holders.

Listen to all you people complaining, You are in N.J. What do you expect.
I have been there almost every weekend and there have been no lines at any of the lifts at the north. considering the crappy weather we have had, they have done an excellent job of making snow. the park is 90%
open with basically no snow this year. And lot's of rain.last time I checked, skiing was a business. there out to make money. I would take this place over anything in the pocono's anyday. It is the closest
big wide mountain around other than going upstate N.Y. It is what it is.
Primarily a day trip place. I do own a condo on the mountain at granite.
And yes I will go to Vermont or out west for a better and bigger experience. But for close to home skiing, it really is not that bad. And the snow board terrain park is great and I don't even board. The only things I can complain about is the weather and them M.C. not opening the connecting trail from granite to the south.

WOW, What can I say about the Creek, Im 32 years old and have been riding for 10 years. The mountain sucks...Badly, while the terrain park rocks. As a matter of fact 5-10 years ago the creek had THE best park in the northeast. It was the measuring stick for all northeast mountains. When I go I strictly stay in the park, the ride is long and the terrain is great, the only problem is that the lines are long and there is a flat part of the run (right in the midddle) where if your not going full speed, you have to unstrap and walk it. Most of the time you cannot go full speed becouse a lift lets off right in the middle of it and there are nubes in your way. If you want to check out the park I recommend the Creek. If its a midweek snowstorm check out the creek. If its ANY OTHER TIME FORGET THE CREEK.
