I've been skiing Mt. Cranmore on and off since the 60's. Of all the Mountains in the area I find this one, despite it's relatively small vertical drop, has a lot to offer the advanced and intermediate skier. It also is a great family mountain with a fair amount of easy skiing and good package prices. If your a new skier be aware, there is a vast difference between the green slopes and the Blue, but not a large difference between the blues and the blacks and there are more blues than any other. most of the blues are more upper intermediate then upper advanced beginner. I am an expert skier and find Cranmore quite challenging with many steep runs from the summit to the base. There is only one green from the summit and it has a couple of narrow steeps in it that will challenge a beginner skier. Their green slope is pretty and wide and long enough to give you a good feeling of accomplishment. The green trails from the top of the double chair (Only half way chair) are great for those just new to skiing. Though I'm not a border, their 3 separate terrain parks (easy, intermediate, expert) look like people were having a lot of fun. I miss the nostalgia of the old skimobile but the friendly staff and cozy deck chairs on a sunny day make up for the loss of an Icon. Over all a great mountain for serious skiers close to town with all you need to have a fantastic day on the slopes. Don't forget to have lunch on the deck of the old log cabin at the summit, perfect on a sunny afternoon just to soak up the scenery and the sun.

I love this mountain, but I wish the connecting trail Bandit was much wider! I have been skiing here since 1994 and have seen some pretty bad accidents on Bandit. I wonder why they don't completely revise the trail by cutting in a wider, safer path.

We skied at Cranmore last season . We are 2 families from the UK. We had experienced skiiers and beginners in our party. The two boys were booked for all day lessons for the week. They loved it. They started as complete beginners and by the end of a week they were very competent both managing black runs.

We had good conditions and found the instructors friendly and very capable. The beer was cold and the hospitality was hot.
We are going to Loon for 10 days this year. We love NH in the winter.

the skiing was good but there weren't too many trails open... the few that were open all lead into the same trails at the lower part of the mountail which were crowded....
