A little disapointed with todays conditions.... then again it is spring time and I was spoiled with the the conditions a week prior at Cannon. Over all the few trails that were open were not in bad condition, like I said, its spring time.... were lucky to still be skiing. Anyway, I had a blast and Im sure the conditions will be Awsome tommorow, they were doing a lot of work on the closed trails today with the groomers.

I went during February vacation and the lines weren't bad at all. The terrain is much tougher and much more fun than Bretton Woods, which is just a short trip by Route 3. The terrain park leaves a lot to be desired, but I hear they're expanding a lot so maybe there will be some major improvements.

Cannon mountian is awesome! I went there during a vacation week and it was fairl empty. The Mountian was huge and very challengig. The lift tickets were the cheapest i had seen in most places. We arrived earl and it was sunny our whole way there and then once we got to teh mountain it was snowing like crazy. It snowed the whole day at the summit and they received like six inches that day. The Mountain seemed very friendly. The lodges were wicked nice. The runs were long and the people were friendly. The only thing was that i really wanted to ride the tram and it was really istolated from the rest of the resort. It had its own highway exit, that is how far the ski area is spread out. another thing was how accesible it was. It was right off th highway literally. The parking lot was in the exit. It was the best place. I can't wait to go back.

Left a nearby resort in the rain yesterday to ski at Cannon. Twenty minutes later we found no rain and the sun peaked out an hour later. Always head to the hills, you'll never know what you'll find! Great ski hill, very granola, trail signs sparse and hard to find at the top part of the mountain - they are all located on old pieces of wood which adds to the charm of the hill, unless of course you are a new to the sport and really need to know the squares from the diamonds. Much to the disappoint of my kids, the snow park was small and limited, however they did let us participate in gate time trials which will be a memory of this trip for years to come. If you are a die hard skiier (which mom is) then head out and treat yourself for a day. Preferably on Tues or Thursday when they host 2 for $60 lift tickets - GREAT bargain.

If you want a glitzy resort experience with groomed courderoy, a lot of super fast lifts and family friendly terrain, you need to look elsewhere. Although Cannon has been "tamed" recently, its still a throwback area to the olden days of skiing. Its not beginner friendly, due to limited green circle terrain. The green circles on the main mountain are Blue's elsewhere. If you wan't a unique experience and are a very good intermediate or an expert, this place is worth a trip. First: Very few intersections and cross trails. Second: Its a steep mountain, You can crank on any level trail. Third: Exceptional gladed skiing for experts. Fourth: You'll see rocks, so accept it or stay home. Fifth: No such thing as a double black diamond. All expert trails are Blacks, which range from a moderate pitch (Taft Slalom)to insane, jump rocks, out of bounds, but in bounds (tramline), which at age 50 I am nearing the end of my ability to ski. Sixth: For reasons I cannot figure out snowboarders never seem to be more than 5% of the people. Seventh: Lift lines this year, even on saturdays have been minimal or non-existent. Haven't been able to ski past 2:30 yet. Eighth: If it were any closer to the interstate it'd have to be in the travel lanes, as its literally 100 yards to the parking lot. In short, my wife and I love this place because there is no area in New England closer to a natural ski experience. You may find, ice, a bush and some rocks, but if you like natural snow and trails that change from hour to hour, its At times you feel like its 1980 again. The Tram? 6 minutes, over 2,000 feet of vertical and my favorite lift in America except for the trams at jackson Hole and Snowbird. Finally: If anyone can find a place where the skiers are friendlier let me know. In the tram cafeteria, if there are 8 people at a table, assume its 3-4 groups of strangers having a blast together.

This is a great mountain. The trails are long and fulfilling, there is alot of natural snow to be found here, and alot of it is ungroomed, so if you get there after a big storm, it's just like skiing virgin slopes. The Food area is a bit expensive, but there is a bar for those you want to relax AFTER they finish skiing. The Black diamonds here some of the most challenging I've seen at a resort, and even the Blue squares are challenging here with the random snow drift. The views are amazing, and the service is professional. The staff knows what they're doing, and are great with advice. This is not a place I'd go if it was my first time though.

Cannon Mountain is one of the best old skool skiers mountains in the east. Nothing beats stepping out of the top of the tram on a snowy day and bombing down Tramway. You really feel like your in the mountains up there, with high altitude and great scenery. While the mountain is statistically small in acerage, it feels big. Top to bottom runs are long and fufilling. The peapody express quad is lightning fast and there's no lines....ever. The atmosphere is friendly, and most of the skiiers are advanced so you never get stuck behind beginers. Theres even some sweet backcountry skiing but I cant tell you about that here, its a secret ;)

This is a skier's mountain, with challenging trails, tough weather and great views. One of my favorites. It's run by the state of New Hampshire, so don't look for drastic changes in the way it operates -- and that's good for those who like an old-fashioned flavor to their skiing. Two not-to-be-missed trails: Vista Way and Upper Cannon, the first for his views off to Franconia Ridge, the second for its absolutely perfect path down the contours of the mountain.
