Great Midwest resort. Nice crew of friendly staff and ski patrol. Its a great place for families and groups to have a fun economical day on the slopes. Andes staff really caters to families looking for clean fun. No alcohol allowed which helps keep it safe. Chalet can be crowded at times, but that can add to the fun. Great "chefs" make better than average food for being at a ski resort. Look for bargain rates on-line. Best area for at least 150 miles in any direction.

Andes Tower Hills was a good place for the very first of beginers. First of all it isn't very easy to find... nearly impossible to get around some of the corners to get there if it is slippery. Their drive is gravel and not very good condition. I was very pleased to see smiling faces inside the chalet. However I was not impressed with the time that it took to get to the top of the "towering hill", all 300 ft. vertical of it, and to be back at the bottom in a fraction of the time. I really think an expansion off of the back of the hill would be ideal and faster lifts. I was also very dissapointed to find that their was no half-pipe anywhere to be seen and the terrain park was still being formed at the end of January. Great food inside, a lot of it was home made, if you were willing to spend an arm and a leg to get a quick meal. Overall I would recommend this resort to a first year skier or snowboarder but wouldn't even bring it up to an experienced rider.

pretty good--for the midwest. terrainwise- obviously not even in the same league as anything in the rockies nor can i imagine better than much in the northeast but with similar conditions. it can get a little icy but this is a pretty solid place to ride if you are reading this sitting within 150 miles of it. they really do their best to keep the hardpack in shape and can get some fresh on occation.

on the plus side--actually a progressive park setup; ive seen a new park design almost every time i go there (about once a year to get the rust off). suprisingly, ATHs has a run(s) that require an advanced skier/snowboarder to make a few turns which truly is rather unussual for anything i have seen in MN/ND/SD besides lutsen and a maybe a few others. definately the best place within 100 miles of Lake Agassiz- (sorry walhalla, bemidji, bears den, even afton). overall good job ATH, keep it up

if your reading this from CO, MT, UT, etc etc-yes it can be worse then this...have pity
