We've been coming for years and love it. What's not to like: good variety of runs, great food, heated pool, helpful ski instructors. While the Rockies have real mountains and much longer runs it's hard to beat a Midwest location that is close enough for us to drive to, stay on site and be pampered. And if you cancel due to the weather you don't lose your money as long as you re-schedule within one year. The value, especially mid-week, is outstanding.

I have rented from Boyne Highlands once in the 7 years that I have lived right across the street. It was the worst experience ever. I get treated better walking into Wal-Mart. It was my first time snowboarding. When I walked in I filled out the rental form and waited for probably 10 minutes before being helped. Even though I was the only one in the building at the time. I presented with my boots dropped at my feet and the board behind me on the bench with no idea how to put the boots on and how to attach the board to my feet. It was a horrible horrible experience and I will be going to Nubs Nob for the remainder of my Ski/Snowboard career. I would highly recommend the rental department at Nubs Nob over Boyne's.

Our family has been driving up to Boyne Highlands for 10 years for their "Canada Week" in March and we've never been disappointed overall. This is clearly a family destination. The plus' include some decent black diamond runs (albeit short ones), lots of intermediate terrain, short lift lines, an excellent ski school, excellent meals, good rentals, good pro shop, outdoor heated pools and hot tubs and good accomodations. The apres ski is only so so but as a family destination, so what. The biggest negative is the length of the runs but that is offset by the short lift lines. Enjoy.

Compared to Boyne Mountain, BH is maybe a bit more intermediate, but has the same quality snow, lifts, service and variety as the mountain. hills have a nice steady pitch to them. Olympic, Challenger, Rob Roy-wide and panoramic. you'll never be unhappy at boyne highlands---only one thing--the ride on the interconnect triple is long on cold days, but considering the slopes at the end of the chair, it's worth it! beginner area perfect for those learning.

Just got back from BH (arrived Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007 and left Thursday the 11th.) Had a fantastic time, as usual. True, we worried there was no snow but the forecast showed better weather ahead. Arrived to see grass and crud conditions Sunday but it snowed overnight and we had 4-5 inches of powder, then with colder temps and made snow we had good skiing the rest of the trip. Several areas and lifts were closed, however. We also visited Nub's Nob on our way back home and had sun and groomed trails for a great morning of skiing.

Stayed at the resort 1/03/07 - 1/04/07. There is no snow in Michigan at that time, but they had man made and they said that it was good skiing. Not true. The snow had the consistance of a snow cone, was very slushy and heavy. Only a few runs were open. Had to walk through mud to get to the snow. I had made the reservations in December when there was snow. Boyne refused to cancel and was going to keep $200 if we cancelled due to the poor conditions. So we went and had a lousy time.

I have been coming to BH for years. I like the runs and challenges for the area. I’ve comes with friends and also have come several kids to introduce them to life on skies….all have had fun and have continued on. Whether staying slope side, condo or off site you can find a place to fit your pocket. The continue to improve chairs lefts with state of art equipment – short/quick left lines. Snow at the BH is always great, must be the lake effect! This is a great MidWest Destination!

Sometimes considered the little brother to Boyne Mountain, this resort is money. I love BH. Hardly any lines, great jumps and rails. A great place to ride. It is definetely worth the extra drive past BM.

A Bonus is this, you can get a pass for both BH and BM. Stop at BH for the day and hit BM for the late afternoon on your drive back south.

Looking for a place where the lines are short and the locals are real? Ride Boyne Highlands.
