Every time I'm there the hill have to many ruts bumps and grooves. They need to learn to use the groomer properly I guess. Ski Patrol was rude to a small kid around 12 years old for doing nothing wrong, which I witnessed first hand. Lifts are way to slow, you get cold trying to get to the top. The lodge smells bad too, but the bar is OK

Timber Ridge is a very family-friendly place. Last year, I was there with a group of kids and one of the children forgot his snow pants. A staff member went out of her way to find a pair from lost and found and then searched us down in the lodge to lend it to us. It completely made this kid's day. His skiing would have been done without this act of kindness. That's the attitude I see from a lot of employees here. The hills are nice -- runs for kids, a good terrain park, and some variety of runs. It's pretty small, but that's to be expected. The Hemlock run is far more challenging than anything at other SW Michigan ski areas. The lodge encourages you to bring your own food for picnics in the upstairs areas. It gets crowded on Fridays (schools) and weekends. It's a very nice place. On a side note, it's my understanding that it is still run by the family that founded it, so it is a good alternative to corporate-run ski areas where the financial bottom line rules all.

This is a good ski place. I found the staff and lessons to be extremely helpful. The hills do get very icy at times. The hills are steeper than bittersweet and more challenging. I learned how to ski here. The lifts are very slow.

I can believe more people haven't complained about this place! It is fun to ski occasionally, but the truth is that it is really sub-par. The only near-decent lifts are the two doubles. The triple, which unfortunatly serves the most popular terrain, is a terrible, unreliable piece of crap which should probably be replace in the the next two seasons if this place wants to stay in business. At least they made an honest effort last season with their vastly improved terrain park and high-speed tow rope.

Basically, the food isn't bad, but the lodge is a piece of crap. My family once took lessons here and were quite disoppointed. Timberridge is very crowded on weekends in prime season from Chicago groups, but hopefully this will provide the cash nessicary to make some well- needed improvements. Oh, and the snow is usually icy and the snow making is pretty bad. Maybe they should just offer ice skating through december.

Easy to get to, family friendly, great security. It has challenging runs for everyone, and better groomed that neighboring ski areas. It appears to have a serious racing program, and staff go out of their way to improve everyon's ability. The Snowshoe bar is one of the best little Apre surprises, and it is very efficient, friendly and a lot of fun. Although this is a small area, it is very big on making your skiing experience a good one. Give it 4 1/2 stars. I'd give it 5 if it had just a little more virticle.

Really a very nice place. A very friendly staff, with some nice hills for all levels (one true diamond, a lot of nice intermediate and beginner runs). They have a triple lift that goes to some runs that everyone can go down, and a couple of doubles that go to more challenging runs. The backside (the quad) is a great familyl-friendly set of runs that isn't crowded even on big days. Not as fancy or high-tech as Bittersweet (a few miles north), but a really wonderful place for a family.

Nice little local ski area - not as many offerings (Terrain or Ski Programs) as Cannonsburg (45 minutes north) but still a great place to get the family out on the snow close to home!
