went to crystal today 3/22/08---what a blast!! having been to caberfae the day before it was nice to have granular snow and sunshine, instead of bald "peaks" that were very hard and icy! what a great place---they've done a LOT to this place since my first trip there in 1986--the atmosphere was great. sure was more expensive than caberfae, but considering their snow and modern lifts, it beat caberfae easily. highly recommend for all ages!!
Spent the day at Crystal 2/22. Grooming was excellent, snow was great. After spending several days at Caberfae, Crystals runs seemed very short. Staff on hand helping with loading was rather surley, like they did not like crowds.
The biggest issue with Crystal is that there seemed to be a lot of people on hills that were way above their abilities, snowplowing very fast straight down the hills yelling for people to get out of the way.
Overall, the facilities and lifts are very nice, with a lot of different runs to try out.

I like crystal mountain. It has some really fun runs. The drawback is every run is very short. The park help was friendly and had good manners. The price was high. The snow was high quality. It is a good place to visit.
What a great resort. A hidden jewel. My 4 year old just loved Crystal Kids and the magic carpet lifts. The instructors are the best. Very kid friendly. They knew just how to get my son on the slopes and love it! The lodging is the best in the midwest. I have stayed at all the other large resort in Midwest MI and Crystal rocks! Very clean accomodations and the Cottages at Water's Edge are great for a large family! Every lodging option was updated and had a Up north decor. They understand what it take to provide great customer service. We had a few issues and the resort staff was their to make sure we left happy! Highly recommend the resort to anyone who has a family that needs to learn how to ski! They seem to focus on being a place to learn whether it is how to ski or golf! We stayed this past summer and my golf lesson with pro Brad Dean was extrodinary. I took off 9 strokes on my game in just one year! THanks to the entire staff for caring about me.

I travel allover the Midwest and always try to get some turns in when i travel aside from Lutsen in Minn I think crystal mt is by far one of the best. from its snow, logdeing, kids programs and ease of using the entire resort without a hike and or a car ride. we're not talking about the Rockeys here, but this place is great.

I live in the GR area and love skiing. I typically make 5 or 6 long weekend trips a year to boyne, crystal, nubs nob ect. crystal is one of my favorites because they continously offer deals and have something for everyone. also the lodging is EXTREMELY nice. this is obviously not aspen but for michigan it is a really nice resort.
Awesome palce to ride around Feb. usally dumps at night and they have all the new snow sorted out by the morning. Great runs and options. Glacier Valley Glade Area is really fun- it's ungroomed woods. Terrain park was better last season but was still fun this year. The Crystal Clipper is very fast and gets you to the top quickly.

Went March 11th, morning is best, snow is still groomed, after 12 noon, snow and slopes are somewhat slow due to temp (about 45-50 degrees). Otherwise, great lessons for the kids, friendly. Somewhat pricey but fun.
