I was at Sugarloaf in January with some coworkers and, for the short time we were there, it was simply awesome. There was fresh powder, and the terrain was very promising. Unfortunately when we got there, there were only TWO lifts operating due to wind, so lines were long right off the bat; But you can't blame the resort for bad weather. Then, after three runs they shut down the mountain completely due to 80MPH (Yes, eighty) winds at the top, and 50MPH winds at the base. It was chaos- People's loose boards and skiis were flying all over the place and everyone had packed into the cafeteria area.
Otherwise, the Loaf is one of the best mountains I've been to in the U.S. - I just didn't get a chance to experience it beyond three runs.
Looking forward to going back!

I have been a "loafer" for 7 years and I look forward to my annual trip up to the loaf with my ski club. We always have a great time...even if we get a few bump, bruises, breaks, and stitches along the way... Great mountain! The bag on a Tuesday night is a blast. Thanks Uncle for all the great music over the years!

Sugarloaf is the best in the world, in it's best snow seasons! It can get 450" of snow. If you want to ski and beath all at the same time, the N E USA is the only place on earth! This area also gives the French accent, without going to the French Alps. Plenty of everything!

Sugar loaf, is one of the best moutains i've skied in awile, especaily this year with all the snow, very nice staff, and there are many places to eat, even a few mid level on the hill, i would say its worth a try if you haven't been there before, and if you have you know what im taking about

This is by far one of the best mountians I have been to on the east coast. Ive planned many group trips here all leaving from NJ. It is a very long drive but well worth the trip if you plan on spending a week or more. They provide a very friendly atmosphere as even the lifties are plesant and attentive. The mountian has excelent terrain as long as they have snow. They have some excellent challenging steeps to nice long and wide cruisers that feel like they go on forever. There is a great, well hidden halfpipe and a nice park with mostly larger hits. There is little night life but you do have several bars to choose from. I would recommend Sugarloaf to anyone
