Mount Abram is one of those gems of a local hill that nearly everybody passes by on the way to Sunday River. Relaxed, friendly, and surprisingly varied and challenging terrain for a smaller mountain. As long as you are not a monster resort, big mountain bigot, you will love skiing here. For those of you who long for the gentler days of skiing past, Mt. Abram will make you feel at home. Technology (no laser scanners at the lift line to slow everything down, my particular peeve)and glitz are refreshingly absent.
I skied here last February and enjoyed one of my best days ever on the slopes. Sandwiched between days at Wildcat and Atttitash, I can honestly say I enjoyed my day here more than at the big mountains. The Bullwinle/Dudley DoRight inspired trail names are a hoot (for those of us old enough to remember) and I dare you to find a better pizza on-mountain anywhere!

Mt. Abram is a wonderful family ski resort! If you like to meet interesting new people and be in a friendly environment, this is the place for you. The lift lines aren't long, the mountain is challening and fun, there is a great tubing park, and the bar is a great time. The owners are always walking around everyday talking to people, and it isn't uncommon to actually meet them and become friends with them yourselves. All of the people who own homes on Mt. Abram and are there every weekend are friendly, outgoing people and you are sure to make friends at the bar.
If you want to be in a friendly environment, meet new people, not be bothered with parking 5 miles away and waiting for an hour in lift lines, and knowing that your kids are in a safe place, than Mt. Abram is for you!
