WAY to crowded on weekends- not fun when it is crowded, but am impressed with the efforts to make skiing affordable to the masses. Maybe other resorts could learn something from the folks at Bogus. Affordability will help with the flat sales other resorts experience.

I've been a pass holder for about 8 years. They have a good deal for passes and are family friendly. The service is good and they deal with your problems very well. I wish the terrain parks were a little better but I really don't board the powder so I don't know how that is. The jumps are very good and the rails are a good challenge. They have a small terrain park in the cat trails and medium and large terrain park up Deerpoint Express as soon as you get off the lift.

i have snowboarded bogus basin for 17 years, been a pass holder for many of them. the resort is decent considering were there at. this year has been a amazing year for the entire state. bogus basin has definitly had a good year so far. hopefully february will be as good as january was. but they could do some bush cutting on the mountain throughout the summer and it could possibly open a lot more ridable terrian. think about cutting down your bushes and expanding the mountain and i think the mountain will countinue to grow.

Been a passholder for 13 years. What a great deal they offer for what you get! They are certainly snowfall challenged, especially w/ the global warming. Two big beefs with Bogus- 1.- they need to CUT THE BRUSH back & 2.- do more public education teaching slow drivers to use the pull outs on the way up. It's been really bad this year w/ slow arse drivers, driving inadequate vehicles for the road. At least they got a decent website now!

What a treat Bogus is! When you take everything into consideration: lifts, terrain, cost, accessibility, local area, Bogus is tough to beat. These guys started the $199.00 season pass deal about 10-12 years ago that took the industry by storm. Great, friendly staff. Laid back, unpretentious. People/locals come here to ski and ride. They don't care what you wear, do for a living or who you know. Nice! My only beef was having to use trails/cat tracks to get from one side to the other. Plenty of good apres ski places in Boise. Try O'Michael's at the base of the road. Bittercreek Alehouse on 8th street for amazing micros! Party!

Bogus is a fantastic resource for lucky Boiseans. A ski report of this quality and caliber is uncommon within 25 minutes of a major metropolitan area. The prices are reasonable and the staff friendly and competent. Boise is a great city, and Bogus is a great resort. Every Native Boisean has been there, and every visitor or transplant should.
With only 1800 feet of vertical drop runs are short while lift lines are long. Expert terrain is limited and overall it is not a challenging mountain. It is decent for a small resort close to home but I would suggest taking the longer drive further north. Bogus has some of the best night skiing around which makes it possible to get some runs during the week after work.

I've heard stories about Bogus Basin for years, finally got around to putting it on my list of places to ski. My cousin (a boarder & local) took some time off work to lay down some tracks with me.
What a great mountain! Or should I say 2 mountains. The lower village is serviced by intermetiate/beginner lifts and the opposite facing mountain, serviced by the upper village is intermetiate to double black. Lots of well groomed cruisers with parallel tree and powder runs.
Village" is this case meaning ticketing, parking, WC and eats. The mountain is small town feel with big time skiing. Great lift service, although weekends can have long lift lines...ski on to chair weekdays, even on powder dump days.
Snowfall can be a problem. Low levels of snow will limit mountain accessibility on some runs. Generally mountain is well prepared for skiing on small amounts of accumulation.
Will I be back? Yes, in a heart beat... This is a smaller scale mix of Deer Valley, Sun Valley, Mt. Bachelor and Crystal Mountain, with 25 minute downtown Boise in Valley.
No comments on terrain park (didn't see it) and any after ski activity would be 25 minutes down mountain... this is a skier/boarder mountain, with limited on mountain lodging.
