Overall OK. Snow was a bit better than a few years ago when there last. However service leaves a lot to be desired, not very family orientated either and the doggie do doo's are not pleasent AT ALL. If you can spend the money go long haul....Canada or US far better experience overall, but if this is your local mountain for a quick weekend then go for it...
Just got back from a fabulous week at Tignes! Fabulous resort, tons of snow and lifts. The weather was superb with the only new snow being on our last day (rats!). We found Tignes to be a great resort and not quite as expensive as others have written. Not the prettiest resort but with all the snow, who cares?. The runs were well marked and signposted. Our only bad point was the amount of dog crap around! Most annoying. Definitely would go again.
Tignes is absolutely fantastic and can be recommended to Skiers of all levels. The Espace Killy is so vast that you will never get bored and once you leave the resorts the pistes seem almost deserted even in the high seasons. Off piste is exhillerating but should pay attentention to where they say are the safer ares. Night life is awsome and caters for all tastes. Talking of tastes there are many varied restaurants with prices accordingly varied. For more information visit www.tignesvisitor.info. Inshort Tignes is an alround brilliant place for skiing and being the highest based resort in the French Alps has an almost unfailing snow record and the longest season.

Awesome place! The largest i've ever been to, bar USA. Its totally endless, and when you're bored make your way over the hill to Val where there will be more then enough including glacia.
I went with 2 beginners, 6 intermediates and 2 experts including myself. Every one really enjoyed all aspects, and at no point did we think that there was nothing to do. However one word of warning for beginners; the grading of the slopes over there are slightly different to any i've been before. All of them are harder than what they set them at, ie blue = red red = black black = help! Nothing too serious but just keep this in mind on your first day and you want a nice steady run, as i got myself in alittle bother when i put my girl friend at the top of a pretty steep, bumpy blue = red after 4 hours of tuition. Ha Ha
There's plenty of bars and places to eat in the resort and more resorts not too far away if you wish.

Tignes is sic! It is huge, high and varied. If you want glades best go mid season but for nearly all year round riding in the Alpes it is very hard to beat. Val D is just over the hill with a natural terrain park. The lifts are mostly fast and there are usually plenty of routes to where you wanna go. To ride it all you would need a season plus.
Its not a cheap lift pass but worth it, there are two main towns to Tignes both are good for the crack but stay in between them or a little ways away if want a quite night in as it can get a little loud late in to the morning. Tignes is all that, and a bag of popcorn!
