fantastic skiing, lots of different terrain and views to die for! Very expensive in cafe's and bars, would want to return to get to know the slopes better, the ease at getting from one place to another is brilliant and lots of lifts get you exactly where you want to be! Kids loved it, easy to find places and meet if we went our separate ways.

One of the most expansive set of mountains it has been my good luck to ski. Val Thorens is the top of world and so sweet. I do caution folks who haven't skied Europe, "it it is a black diamond, they really mean it." Only drawback to Les Trois Vallee is getting caught on wrong mountain after lifts start closing. Requires long ride to Moutier and back. Loved the place.

Courchevel 1850 spoils you so much, you won't want to ski anywhere else after trying it! Even Zermatt didn't live up to it (although the nightlife there is better)

Most positive! We rented an apartment through Maeva, and were extremely friendly and helpful.Lifts and cablecars approx 50 metres from the building.Good life system joing up the 3 valleys, Meribel and Val Thorens, amoungst others, endless runs, well groomed and signposted.
We stayed in Courchevel 1550, for us all over prices high in EUR, but ample supermarkets, and bakeries..
3 resorts, 1550, 1650 and 1850 in walking distance, or free shuttle busses.
Highly reccommended, not far from Geneva by well organised bus system, child-friendly.

This year will be my 18th year at Courchevel. After skiing at here, you won't be satisfied with any of the ski resorts.

I used to live and work in Courchevel. Live at 1550, work at 1850. That was my best resort so far, until I left for (a job in) Switzerland in 1996 and discovered another ski resort in France.

The pros:
- 4 stages ski resort in the world largest ski area,
- skiruns perfectly groomed, sometimes too perfectly - not a moggle left!
- lifts are modern and confortable, gondolas, etc.
- slopes orientation: North - Keeps good snow in La Saulire (top) till late
- good restaurants, nice hotels
- view

The cons:
- slopes orientation : North => in Dec. Jan not much sun in La Saulire
- snow making machines system not optimal, it's better on the other side of La Saulire in Meribel at the moment (end Dec.06)
- lodging can be very expensive
- summertime: all 5 resorts are distant, you need a car to go from one to the other (except for gondola between 1300 and 1850, 1500 and 1850), riding a bike can be tiring! Unless you like walking
