I was in Spain for a four day break at parents apartment in Oliva which is approximately 45 mins south of valencia. On monday 11th Feb 3 adults and my 6 year old son decided to drive the 2 hours up to Javalambre. The journey was great no traffic and we got to the resort by about 10am. The ski area itself is sat nicely on top of the largest mountain around and is new in design. Dont expect much it is really a day trip place. There were no obvious hotels except one on the e23 approx 15km away that we saw. The ski hire was good (be warned that no english is spoken at is it a very local ski area) after a few hand signals we all got kitted out and bought ski passes under 5 go free so my son lost a year on his birthday. The cost is reasonable and the equipment first rate. The slopes... there are three nursery slopes one with a magic carpet which helped us to get out skiing legs again then it was straight uo on the four man chair lift to the top so we could enjoy one of the 4 blue runs. There is a red run that is on the other side of the mountain as well. Snow boarders have an area that has been made for them which looked great. We skied for a few hours then got some lunch from the cafe at the bottom of the slopes. Menu of the day deal 12 euros for three good courses. All in all a great little resort to go and try if you are in the region. We had a great day and will be back next year. Ryan Air flight only cost £80 for three of us over half term.
