i grew up skiing here, the owner rod is agreat teacher and coach. he was an olympic skier who has skied all over. it shows great dedication and a true love of the sport to run a ski area in shitty southern ct for 35 years. it's not the rockies people, hell it's not even the berkshires.

We went this past Saturday. Woodbury is like something out of a movie
it is so bad. They lied on the phone and said there was x-country skiing when the trails were bare. There are pieces of dangerous
equipment lying around at the base of the hill and a pole sticking
up halfway down. There's one rickety lift and one tiny hill. The parking lot is mud central. When we arrived, a snowboarder was going
down with his dog on a leash next to him. They did this about ten
times (the dog rode the lift up). Halfway through the afternoon
a giant snow cat started grooming the slope, right amongst skiers and
boarders going down the hill! It was amazing no one was hurt. The
snack bar had a smokey woodstove that made our eyes water. (It was
still freezing inside). We actually enjoyed ourseleves because it was so absurd but won't be back. It's too dangerous and a real rip-off.

The worst most dangerous ski place in the country and I dont mean steep slops. I mean Equipment parked at randon all over the place. There was a 20' steel pipe with four spikes pointing up right on the middle of the slope. It really should be closed down. The owner was eating out of a bowl of stew while he over charged me $265 for 3-rentals and 5-lift tickets (4 kids) with no chair lift open only a rope without handles.
A Dangerous rip off. Don't go there, I tell you.

This place goes on the "I'm not stupid to go back there again" list.
This is a VERY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE PLACE!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS THERE. THEY MOST LIKELY WILL GET HURT!!!!
It was horrible. The parking lot was a mud pit and once you park on the upper level of the hill it is really tough to walk down. People with small children who need strollers are out of luck.
It is way overpriced for what they offer. Tubing was $30.00 for 3 hours. But they don't tell you it's 40 minutes on the line. So what does that come out to, maybe 5 times down the run??
The front lobby where you buy the tickets smelled like a urinal. The bathroom was even worse. Toilets didn't flush, no T.P. and no paper towels to dry your hands. I guess the guy thinks once you put them back in your gloves they will dry. Wanted to buy a bag of chips for the kids. Bag said .99 cents. The owner said 2$ a one dollar handling fee he claims. Man, and I thought thieves used guns.
We wanted to rent helmets. ( Boy, I’m glad we did) 20 minutes on line to rent a helmet. So that was 20 minutes less that the kids got to go on the run. Also, while getting the helmets, a pair of skies fell on my son and hit him on the back. Big skies, little kid, figure it out.
There were not enough tubes and people were fighting over the tubes.
They did not have enough staff for the people and the staff did very little to make the runs safe. There was one person at the bottom of the lift to help you on and one person on the top to help you off. There was nobody working at the bottom of the run to direct the people off the slope and there was nobody at the top of the run to spread out the tubers. They were all coming down at random and very unorganized. My son went up the big run and was not instructed on how to slide down with the tube. He sat in it instead of laid down. First hill he flies out of the tube face first into the ice. That’s when the guy at the top tells me he should lie down instead. After the fact. But his Mid Eastern accent was so heavy I doubt my son would have understood him anyway.
Many people got hurt when I was there due to the negligence of the owner. One skier came down the slopes and missed a quad that was parked right at the end of the run by inches. People were getting wiped out just waiting on line. It reminded me of a slaughter house. Just waiting on line to be axed.
This guy should be ashamed of himself and be closed down as soon as possible.
Again, I can only stress that it is very unsafe. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. ( I wish I had been).
If I could give this place less then a 1 it would be in negative numbers!!

The owner was very friendly and the staff were helpful but the facility had much room for improvement. The parking lot was a mud pit, there was one working toilet and one roll of toilet paper left by 2:00. When I told the owner, he said I should just use a different one. The snack bar ran out of half of their items by 1:00 and they were incredibly understaffed. The woman taking the orders and working the register was the same woman making the fries and hot dogs (without wearing gloves). The owner stated that they usually do not have such a big crowd. It's Friday of X-mas break. Maybe that's why.

The owner is kind of weird. However he does let you build jumps and set up ski courses. The snow so far this year has been good. It would be nice if he got rid of the chair lift and put in a T bar.

If you live in Fairfield or Westchester, this is not a bad place to go. Telluride it ain't but its pretty good for a family day out or for casual skiers. Owner is nice and apparently loves to party.

I went to woodbury yesterday March 1st 2007. It was horrible save yourself the gas. I would have been better off going down the hill in front of my dads house. The drunk guy who owns it (I have been there 3 times and he was hammered each time) could care less about his customers. They claimed on the phone to have 12trails and 4 lifts open, inreality it was 2 trails and 2 lifts. One of which was the bunny hill. Then while we were about an hour into our 6hr lift ticket they shut the second lift off essentially closing off yet another trail on us. Leaving us only with the bunny trail to ride for the next 5hrs. I am a little bit better than the bunny hill so I left. No refund, raincheck, or apology. I went out to have a good time and ended up having a horrible one and wasting alot of gas. Don't bother.
