Wolf Creek is the best ski area in the universe! Lift entrance and exit are designed perfectly for skiers and boarders. Beautiful terrain, awesome powder and endless possibilities. Lots of choices for any ability. Lots of expert variety.

I was at wolf creek on Sunday feb. 24 and the snowboarding was great. It is one of the best days i have had this year. I think it's one of the best resorts in the state of colorado if you just look at boarding and skiing and not all the commercial stuff.

I skied Wolf Creek from Feb 5 through Feb 7 following a weekend dump of something like 5 feet of snow. I have to say that was the best skiing experience of my life! Having lived in the midwest and southeast for my entire life my powder experience was limited, but this was a great place to work on my powder skills as Wolf Creek does not groom most of their runs rated blue or above. A great variety of terrain, especially for intermediates and above and plenty of places in the trees to find fresh pow, even 3 days after it stopped snowing. Oh yeah, the best part... no lift lines and you cant beat the $27 lift tickets if you happen to be active duty military. To the owner, you have an awesome mountain! Please dont change a thing. I`ll be back next winter as Wolf Creek is now on my yearly " must do " list.

Wolf Creek Ski Area is a fantastic, friendly ski area with great powder. It seems to have a great niche with those looking for a quiet, family atmosphere. I would like to help the "anonymous" writer, (Jan. 31, 2008) with the signing and trail map issues. The trail map clearly depicts the Alberta Lift area as an ungroomed area. I have noticed that the ski area does occasionally groom in this area to help skiers negotiate the flat terrain areas. Some of the signs are small and in need of repair, but adequate. Thanks and enjoy the snow!

We skied Wolf Creek in early December after they had received 99 inches of snow in 3 or 4 days. The powder was wonderful! However, I feel that Wolf Creek REALLY needs to invest in a trail marking system. Being new to the mountain, we had a very difficult time deciding which trails were which. We also ended up going on the Alberta Lift, not knowing that the trails were ungroomed and designed for more advanced skiers. The trail map did not indicate this and since that time I have only found one place that said that it was more appropriate for advanced/expert skiers. Needless to say, we ended up "cross country" skiing for over an hour, with it snowing like crazy and darkness approaching. Thank God for cell phone coverage. We called the resort to let them know where we were and they met us at the lift. I am not a stupid skier and would never have gone on the Alberta had I been forewarned. So, those of you new to the mountain, take heed.

With all that said, I will definitely go back to Wolf Creek. The people were very friendly and aside from my "little" adventure, I had a great time.

I hesitate to write review this fantastic place because part of the wonderful charm is the fact it does not have long lines and smashed with people; the snow is always better than everyone (it boasts the most snow of any resort because of it's location; it sits in a perfect spot to catch most storms and snowfall). We pack our own lunch although the restaurant is always busy. There are great places to grab a bite and hang out at the top of the mountains also. Lift tickets are very reasonable compared to other resorts; great staff and classes; I took an afternoon class and was the only one, so I got a private lesson; it was great. The little kids have their own class and they are all decked out in their Wolf Pup vests and skis with wonderful instructors. The bunny slope is for everyone and you can stay on it until your confidence is built up. If you don't ski, there are places you can sit and hang out while the rest of the family is on the slope. They are constantly improving and adding nice and fast lifts. Rarely do you have to wait very long to hitch a ride on a lift. The emergency crew is constantly around and responds immediately as needed and expert care is provided at the First Aid station. We rent a really nice house in Pagosa Springs for the week; see www.vrbo.com for a house or condo to fit your needs. It is a charming little town itself; check out The Hot Springs and renovated movie theater as well as antiques, shops, and restaurants. I hate to give such a glowing review because we like the fact it is not a jam packed place. We have been going there for over ten years; we live in Texas.

The best snow around! We stay at a rental cabin east of Pagosa Springs towards Wolf Creek and the drive up is easy. My teenage kids love the skiing. Lift prices are the best around and even busy days (Thanksgiving, Christmas)the lift lines are short and quick. All levels of runs and seems like great new powder every day. We always bring food up from the cabin and never have a problem. The staff are terrific and will store your rentals for continuous days. Overall it's the best!

Wolf Creek the mecca. If champain powder is what you want... well this is the place... The pow pow falls in mass amounts up here... Dumpage... IF you want to ride out in the best pow pow, hike alberta peak first thing, then ride out to the waterfall and drop some cliffs... puff on the chair and then hike the ridge, knife ridge... and for those how dare, hit up horsebowl... Cause when the snow falls, there is nothing better, and best of all tickets are just $45 bucks... so get a beer at the lodge as well... If you dont know, you better ask someone... The POW POW is to die for... POWWWWWWWW POWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW 4 days.....

I was at Wolf Creek when they recieved an epic 80" in 72 hours. I've snowboarded summit county and decided to venture to southern Colorado and experience Wolf Creek. If you like untouched powder lines with natural cliffs and ridges Wolf Creek is the place to be. With mainly locals who ride, wolf creek has quick lift lines freindly staff. Terrain experience ranges from beginners to extreme and the natural powder surface makes for great riding. Although Wolf Creek lacks a terrain park, it makes up for it with the waterfall area. The Waterfall area consists of rock cliffs and great dropoffs for nice lines. Ride the Treasure lift and find the Prospector and drop off the natural snow drift ridge into untouched powder. Wolf creek only grooms green trails leaving untouched powder on experienced and extreme trails. With the most snow in Colorado Wolf Creek makes for a day full of powder.

My family and I just skied Wolf Creek from December 26th to December 30th. The skiing was terrific. It was crowded because of the Christmas holiday, but that is to be expected at any ski resort. Everyone one of the staff was polite and very helpful. We only met one rude skier in the 4 days we skied. Tables were hard to get for lunch, but people were willing to share seats when they had room. The outdoor grill on the deck was great and the cooks did a good job of getting people through the long line. The prices on everything from lift tickets, to ski rental and food were all reasonable compared to other Colorado resorts. My wife had a problem with her boots the first day and the employees were very helpful in getting her problem taken care of. Our 2 teenage boys tried snowboarding for the first time. The instructors were quite nice and helpful and the boys had a great time snowboarding. So much so that they say they will only snowboard from now on. My family and I couldn’t be happier with our decision to come back to Wolf Creek, this is our second time. The only down side is the drive to and from the mountain from Pagosa Springs, but the employees and the skiing more than make up for it. We look forward to going back after our boys have graduated high school. That way we can miss the big Christmas crowd.

The only complaint I have about the mountain is the very poor trail marking. Most of the trails off of the Treasure lift intermingle and the little trail marking that exists is hard to read. My youngest son had a hard time telling some of the green runs from the blue ones off the Bonanza lift.

If you just want to sit in the lodge and look like a skier, then there are plenty of other resorts you will like much better. If you really want to hit the slopes and ski, then there is no place better than Wolf Creek.
