Telluride was an amazing ski resort. The town was full of great people and restaurants, along with the mountain village. There is amazing scenery, and excellent runs. There are many great lifts, runs for all levels, and great places to spend your time. I prefer Telluride over any ski place I have visited including Aspen, Tahoe, Beaver Creek, etc. Telluride is great! Im leaving on Saturday to go!
Spiral Stairsteps 'to heaven.' Telluride has some of the finest steeps in US. Took a bit to figure out what to do with skis outta sight below fresh fluffy stuff but once it dialed. MMMMMM BABEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Nice that it is off the beaten path but then again it is nice to have different mountains to try. Thoroughly enjoyed a week here, the Crested Butte with Alta and Park City on way back. You can leave Sacramento, Calif at 4pm Sunday and get 1/2 day ticket Monday....even in a blizzard. Sure glad the truk didn't break. New F150 4x4 will do 100mph in 4x. Dayummmmmm :0
Telluride is a great non-budget minded resort town. The terrain is excellent and town & village are built for skiing. The thing my wife and I liked most was that we drove in on a Friday and didn't drive again until we left on Monday, everything is within walking distance and the gondola between town and the village is free. There's excellent steap challenging runs and the scenery is awsome. Lodging is expensive and so is everything else here but definitly worth a visit every once in a awhile. Thats my 2cents!

I'm 47 years old and I've been skiing since I was 12 and Telluride is the most beautiful place that I've ever been skiing...
We skied from February 6th through the 10th. The snow was absolutely perfect and we never experienced a line to the lifts the whole time we were there...
The Gondola was the greatest thing to visit the town of Telluride from Mountain Village. Everything was in walking distance... This was the absolute best skiing experience in my life.
I knew I would be depressed when I left there...

Telluride is like going to Europe without leaving the country. Tons of great restaurants. The snow was absoultely amazing and the terrain was amazing. No lift lines and the new terrain in Black Iron Bowl was out of this world, big chutes and open bowls. I am trying to figure out a way to live there.

Well let me start by saying the skiing in "T-ride" is out of sight.
steep and deep or smooth and groomed. We were kind of shocked with the Mountain Village. As you ski down to lift 4 the main lift in the village you are greeted with the line for the lift, ski racks, member ski racks and tent?, a snow board demo tent, skis and snowbaords just laying in the snow not in all the racks, mobile food carts(yuck), and about 500 people all packed at the edge of the slope. Sounds really safe doesnt it? After you battle your way off the slopes and get by all the crap in the way the place opens up to a nice wide open core. The core has awsome resturants (Tracks was our favorite) and a ton of ski shops (Boot Doctors very good. With all the construction going on in years to come if the town dosent figure this out it will be even more caoutic. Spead it out before some one get seriously hurt. I highly recamend telluride and mtn village for vacation we just were confused with all the conjestion.
GREAT! Great Snow!! Best skiing in over 20 years!! No lines!! Great trails! GREAT TOWN!! GREAT PEOPLE!! REMINDS ME OF ASPEN 20 YEARS AGO. ONLY NEGATIVE WOULD BE THE NEED FOR MORE RESTAURANTS. I GUESS IT'S COMING WITH ALL THE NEW HOTELS OPENING?
First off, let me say that this season was a GREAT season for snow. We left on Sunday, January 6th and arrived at around 9:30pm. The storm on Sunday evening was very bad, but the roads were clear. The C145 was very clear and well maintained when we left, however, everyone should be VERY careful when driving. Responding to the review before me, the lift lines were not long at all. Skiing was pretty much ski on, ski off. I averaged about 20-25 runs/ day. I spoke to one of the ski patrols and they had said that there were about 1,040 people there as of Monday. That is such a small amount. This is the perfect time of year to go. The snow kept on coming down and there was so much fresh powder on the runs, it was amazing.
Runs that are very good right now are Humboldt Draw, Butterfly, Peek a Boo, Palmyra, Pick n' Gad, Polar Queen, and Smuggler's Run. Those are the best in my opinion. These runs are not groomed and are extremely fun with the fresh powder and moguls. All and all, I wish I was still there right now, and the $82 lift tickets are definitely worth it. If you think that it is too much and want to complain about it, than buy yourself a season pass later on in the year, I believe they run about $200. So instead of paying $246 like I did, you would be saving $46. Anyway, get out there and have fun, be safe!
ohh come on people quit ur whining, telluride is bomb!!!!!i dont much to say telluride dominates!!!no complaning!!!!whatso ever!!

Telluride was a big dissappointment to my family. We had been told that Telluride was a great place to go. No lift lines, affordable, and great runs. Well let me start out by saying that lift lines DO exist at Telluride. The base was a chaotic place! Prices for lodging were overpriced. Lift tickets are $85! The mountain is not worth $85 a day. This isn't Deer Valley! The runs are of no comparison to Whistler, Alta, or Park City. And most of all the ski school is awful! They were UNSAFE, unprofessional, and lack communication between parents and instructors. Kids were lost to say the very least. If sending your kids to ski school is an important factor in your ski vacation, then don't go to Telluride.
