What a great place to take your family if you want to ski or ride. You can leave your kids to go as they please. They cant get lost and although it is small, it feels big. Great snow, great people and amazing views. Family friendly for sure in that you can ski 3 days here for what it would cost at Vail or the like. Not as much extra stuff but for skiing it cant be beat. You would not regret a visit.

I love Cooper. I have lived in Colorado 2.5 years and skied many different mountains; Cooper is still my favorite. Slow lifts, yes; but no lines and you can ski to your car! Mellow, friendly, beautiful views: it is great. I have skied more than 50 days there and I still find new spots.

Great place to ski and relax. No snobs, inexpensive good food, friendly down-to-earth staff, reasonble lift ticket rates, and some of the most beautiful terrain in the state! But please...go elsewhere.

Small in terms of size. Lifts are slow. Not for the heavy duty skier looking for big vertical or extreme terrain. Absolutely fun for the family and an ego builder for beginner skiers up through advanced skiers. Friendly. If you want to see a REAL mountain town, Leadville is it. It is not a theme park atmosphere. Leadville is high. Be sure to get acclimated or bring your own bottle...of oxygen, that is.

You want consistent natural snow, a place where your family is welcome and cannot get lost or in over thier head and wher some of the best instructors in the state are year in and year out...Ski Cooper in the place...yes it may not have the "extreme" steeps, but I've been skiing there for 8 years and can always find entertaining terrain. Oh, and I don't think I've ever stood in a lift line there...even on three day weekends...Leadville is probably the last real mountain town not taken over by pretntiousness or a big developer with several good places to eat - Quincy's for great prime rib or filet mignon depending on the night and Zitchitellas (sic) next door is excellent Italian...
