It was a powder day with around a foot of fresh snow. My friends and I had come to echo for the park, well everyone that worked there was riding the powder. being a mountain that is supposed to be just park, they didnt groom at all, nor use hand tools. every employee was out ride breaking all day. ski patrol did not cover buried rails or anything. the place was dangerous and considering that its like 500 virt ft. I would have gone anywhere else for pow runs. Echo's staff is a joke, they dont care about he mountain or the guests.
I rode Echo on earlier this week (3/20/2008). The snow was nice and the weather was beautiful. The park was in good shape with lots of features for all skill levels and there was NO crowd. This was nice given is proximety to Denver and the fact that it was spring break. The other skiiers and riders were very friendly too. I would liked to have seen additional grooming on the FI70 run, but the rest of the park was groomed nicely. The value was also good at only $39. The bar and food areas have room for improvement. They only had pizza, corndogs, and soup to eat and the bar wasnt much to speak of either. It was a good time all in all.
Last year, Echo had a great snow year, this year isn't as good but its a fun hill close to Denver. Terrain parks are nice, but would like to see some expansion of the mountain - not a lot vertical by Colorado standards

I like riding in the park and love getting back into the trees. I was surprised to find both at echo!
yes, they have great features in the park and are the closest lifts to Denver but by venturing off the path there are actual tree runs that go untouched as the crowd - there wasn't one - were sticking to rails and jumps.
Good times!

Echo is the perfect mountain for anyone who likes to ride park... you don't have to wake up early to get there because they have night skiing... its tiny, you get to know everyone who's working after about 2 runs.. its not far from town.. and the views are absolutely epic. They food may be nothing short of gas station microwave pizzas and hot pockets..but its perfect...like you're hangin out on your friends couch... with sick jibs in the backround

Echo Mountain is the best kept secret in skiing. It is pretty much all park riding, but it has something for all skill levels. I rode Echo tonight for the first time and it is unbelievably cool. It is only 20 bucks after 4pm (they are open till 9pm) and there were only 5 people on the entire mountain including me. The staff is really friendly, and the lodge is brand new. The terrain was 6" of fresh powder in between jumps, boxes and rails. I had never experienced anything like it. It is only 35 miles from Denver but the base is at '10600 so they have tons of snow.
My Background: Former pro skier (not a park rider) currently living in Vail.
Go there and you will be surprised, It is the best small ski area I have ever been to.
