Panorama is a bit isolated. I came up from Kimberly to the south, a nice drive. There are shuttle busses from Banff. That is a spectacular drive.
Panorama has a reputation for not as good snow as some other resorts. I was lucky. A significant snowfall a couple of days before I arrived in late March. You could see occasional evidence that without that snowfall, it would have been quite crusty.
I had one day of skiing here. It was a weekday with no lines and runs to yourself. It is hard to argue with over 4000 feet of vertical. Two high speed quads then unfortunately a slow chair to get to the top. The views from the top are spectacular, amazing and incredible. And a nice little mini restaurant with a fireplace at the top to warm up if needed.
If you want diamonds and steep moguls, this is the place. Loads of these including many double diamonds. Incredible. Nice cruising runs as well and the lower area has quite long greens for beginners.
It could be easy to miss the runs under Sunbird chair that are well worth it. The chair is slow though.
This place is big. I didn't even have time to go to the extreme dream zone. But Taynton Bowl is a double diamond dream. But.....get ready to sling your skis over your shoulder and walk/climb along Outback Ridge to get to many of the runs. An interesting experience once. A time and energy waster after that. The Heli-High part does bypass the walk. Also at the bottom of the bowl is a long ski out type run and you have to go all the way to the bottom. In need of a chairlift at Taynton Bowl.
Overall, a place not to miss.

The ratio of skiable terrain to number of skiers, sunny days and good snow is hard to beat. Resort accomodation ranges from affordable rooms to fancy homes and condos. Earl Grey Lodge is a extremely impressive high end cuisine in a log home setting. We loved it so much we just bought some land at Panorama.
Two trips to Panorama have convinced me there are still little known gems out there worth the effort to visit. The mountain has a very friendly feel to it. The managers obviously love where they work, and the services reflect that in every way. Dedicated snowmaking to prepare for early season FIS alpine races insures that you can ski there in December knowing you can use your good boards.
Once you make it to the summit you will be blown away by the view. With 4000 vertical drop you better have been doing your cardio for the last month.
On-site lodging is fantastic. In many cases it is truly ski in, ski out. Restaurants are limited, but good quality. The locals party like Rock Stars. Watch out for B.C. women - they can put 'em back, and keep smiling all night knowing they will be ready to ski your heart out the next morning. Beware!
Dollar for dollar, foot for foot of skiing this place is great. Get there someday.

Panorama is a great mountain to ski and ride. I hesitate to tell anybody about it, because it's so quite and lift lines are short. I'm planning my second trip this winter, because the last time I went I told myself I had to come back. Between the friendly staff to the Tayton bowl and everything in between Panorama is the place to go..

Resort beautiful. Staff friendly. Restaurants limited but very good. Coffee shop especially welcoming with great cookies. Not crowded. No wait for lifts M-F. Mountain steep. Overwhelming for novice skier but you can get to summit and take the long way down. A great experience if you aren't looking for night life.

This was one of my favorite mountains in B.C. The mountain is very family friendly and quiet. There are no lift lines even on busy holidays and weekends. Finally some of the mountains terrain is the BEST in B.C the Tayton Bowl is awesome and very difficult. Between Panorama is will worth the drive and money.
