I have been to Cerro Bayo a few times and really liked it. If you are an advanced/expert skier or snowboarder it is too small to spend a week there, but is a great day or 2 day trip from nearby Bariloche that is an hour away. There is a steep section though that is a 15 minute hike to the right of the top chairlift that has a chute and a long cornice. The chairs are definitely older but it is way less crowded here than Bariloche. There have been some improvements for 2008 with a new chair and rennovating one of the current ones. One reason to come to Cerro Bayo is for the charm of the town of Villa de Angostura. It is basically only 2 streets and many wooden made moutain homes and great views of the surronding lakes. There is not much nightlife here but some decent restaurants with good traditional Patagonian food.
I ve recently being to cerro bayo and I had one of the most exiting expierences ever, it is a small mountain but the ski level is superior i highly recomend this center for ski lovers
