Soldeu, renowned for its awesome ski school and beginners tuition, is the perfect place for beginners and improvers to practice their skiing and boarding, however experts may want to stay clear. With a great range of fun blue runs and challenging red runs there is something for most people, and it doesn't end when you're at the bottom of the mountain. Their is a thriving night life with countless pubs and bars in soldeu village, a lot of which are family friendly if you are thinking of going with children. The hotels are fantastic as well with great food and beutiful views of the mountain (if you are willing to pay, which I personally recommend that you do). Also, most hotels are only a few metres from the gondola so you do not need to worry about catching a bus every morning which can be an annoyance for the "I don't do mornings" people out there. All in all it is a fantastic resort, although the lack of hard black runs may be a disappointment for the more adventurous.

Went to Soldeu for my second time skiing and it was amazing, huge with all kinds of slopes great place to pick up confidents. Ment up with two broaders who seem to really enjoy area and ended up going out with them everyday, I've been to Meribel in france and I must say I preferred Soldeu, much cheaper in resort too, only let down was the transfer but on the way out we did have a stop to break the journey.. Try Soldeu out you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic place to learn to ski or snowboard, great ski school and good lift system. The ski area has moved on over the last 7 years and is now as good as any resort in the alps. A good mix of hotels and apartments to meet most peoples needs. Only pain is the 4 hour coach ride from Toulouse to resort.
