NH Celebrates Spring – Silliness and Savings

By Joan Wallen on March 20, 2007

All over New Hampshire spring is ushered in with wacky antics and some good deals for skiers and riders looking to take advantage of the latest snowfall, super conditions and more hours of daylight.

If you take time out of skiing to watch the 9th Annual Slush Cup at Mt. Sunapee on Saturday, you can still get in a full quota of runs. The area will keep the lifts turning an extra hour on Saturday and Sunday, til 5 pm, so the longer daylight can be put to good use.

On April 1st it’s no April Fools joke. Waterville Valley will let you ski and ride for just $1. They’ll also be hosting the J-5 Jibberific Jib Jamboree on March 31st and have a couple of days of ski and board demos, food sampling and parties all weekend.

Gunstock gets into the spring spirit on April 1 with the BYODC (Bring Your Own Dry Clothes) Pond Skimming Contest amid a tropical beach party theme.

Many areas around the state have next year’s season passes on sale with some great early-buy prices. Check it out.
