With temperatures dipping below the freezing point, ski areas across Pennsylvania have planned an all out assault on barren slopes. Several mountains reported flurries towards the end of the day and there was even the possibility of actual snow.
Alpine Mountain in Analomink, Whitetail in Mercersburg and Liberty in Carroll Valley – all expecting temperatures in the 20s – remained closed today in order to blow snow unimpeded.
On their Web site Whitetail assured skiers that, “we are poised and ready to take full advantage of the colder temperatures when they arrive. We will be making tons and tons of snow.”
