All Together Now In the Ziller

By Patrick Thorne on September 1, 2006

Another group of ski resorts have decided they no longer exist as separate places and are now all one. This time it’s about ten villages in Austria’s Ziller Valley, most famous of which is the Tux glacier ski area and Mayrhofen’s neighbour Finkenberg.
They’re now all called Ski and Glacier World Zillertal 3000. You can ski between the three reasonably well, although it’s a shuttle bus up to the Tux lifts. The areas stats are immediately three times more impressive which works well for international marketing. However there might be practical problems if, for example, you stay in Finkenberg and want to try out the local toboggan slopes, you’ll find they’re actually a bus ride up the valley in Tux.
