Ski Brule, MI Voted Midwest's Favorite Resort

By OnTheSnow on April 22, 2008

Orinda, California: What's the favorite overall Midwest ski resort of visitors to OnTheSnow.com, the oldest and most-visited snow sports portal on the Internet? It's Ski Brule near Iron River, Mich. The Web site, which attracts an audited 1.2 million individuals monthly during the winter, gave its visitors the opportunity to write reviews of all North American resorts and rank them in five categories.

Brule scored highest in the Midwest region in the overall favorite category. The ratings were based primarily on readers' average ranking, number of reviews, and specific comments made in OnTheSnow.com over the winter season.

"More and more skiers and snowboarders are relying on the word of their peers when they make resort choices," said Mountain News President and Publisher Rob Brown, whose company publishes OnTheSnow.com. "We believe the importance of reader advisories will continue to grow each year and these annual awards provide a peek into their thinking."

Reviewers were clear in their comments: "This place is great for skiers of all ages and performance levels… The kids are snowboarders and love the terrain park. According to them, it's bigger than any of the others in the Wisconsin/Midwest that we've been to… Great hill, friendly workers… Short lines, neat selection of terrain, and always open early in the season. Lodge is very cool and food is decent… If you are looking for great skiing and a rustic home-like atmosphere, Brule is a great spot."

There are 48 luxury chalets that sleep 300 people at the resort. Additional lodging is available seven miles away in Iron River ranging from studio condominiums to upscale log chalets.
