Alpine Meadows' Year-End Toast

By Paul Doherty on April 16, 2008

With the conclusion of of the ski season drawing closer by the day, Alpine Meadows has planned an uncommon event in celebration of an almost-simultaneous moon rise and sunset Saturday evening, April 19.

Season pass holders within the Reno, Tahoe, and Northern California communities have been invited to enjoy the mountain at this very unique hour for a year-end toast, a twilight mountain descent, apres-ski dinner, dancing and live music.

Gather at the Summit Six Chair at 5:30pm, then ride to the top where you will be greeted by a roaring fire, hot cocoa and marshmallows. Look to the east for a moon rise at 7:28pm and to the west for the sunset at 7:43pm. Then ski or snowboard down Alpine Bowl and Red Trail to the base lodge for a BBQ chicken or tri tip feast.

Kick off the ski boots and throw on some dancin' shoes because the live music is guaranteed to keep things moving after dinner.
