Big Deals And Big Snow Are At Durango
Feb 25, 2008 By Shannon Luthy
The big storms that blanketed the San Juan Mountains put Durango Mountain Resort on track to surpass the snowiest winter in the past ten years. The ski area is staying open an extra week, through April 6, 2008. There has been more than 25 feet of snow to date.
It's even easier to get to Durango now, with direct flights from Love Field in Dallas into the SW Colorado town on Southwest Airlines. They leave every Saturday and Wednesday, through March 22. Lodging and airfare packages are available by calling 1-800-982-6103.
Purgatory at Durango also offers a Spring Spectacular Package. You can get two nights of lodging and three days of skiing or boarding, starting from $199 per person. Lodging is at the Tamarron Resort, but can be customized for Cascade Village. It's based on double occupancy with a few restrictions that might apply, such as the deal is not good March 15-23 because that is Spring Break. The number to call for reservations is 1-800-982-6102.
