Learn to ski or snowboard at great rates during the next few weeks.
The Lake Tahoe area is the place to go over the next couple of weeks for folks who want to learn to ski or snowboard at greatly reduced rates. From Jan. 7-11, Sierra-at-Tahoe is having its Learn to Ski Week, and $25 a day gets never-evers a limited-access lift ticket, rental equipment and a 2.5-hour lesson (this deal is available only on-line sierrattahoe.com). Diamond Peak (diamondpeak.com) is holding a similar deal from Jan. 14-18, for the same $25 price, but you can purchase package at the resort. Squaw Valley (squaw.com) is hosting a Learn to Ski and Ride Day Jan. 13, which will cost neophytes $35 to get a limited-access lift ticket, rental gear and lesson.
