Sugarloaf's Bill Swain said at least White Nitro should be open on manmade snow, but there's a good chance that natural snow will make it possible to open the rest of the Snowfields as well.

The mountain has 105 of 133 trails, slopes and glades open, and 13 of 15 lifts.

Sugarloaf is looking ahead to College Week Jan. 7-11, with ski and stay packages starting at $59 per person per night, and a Battle of the Bands set for the Widowmaker Lounge. Details: sugarloaf.com.
