Diamonds Are In The Rough

Diamond Peak is inviting non-skiers and non-snowboarders to give a new sport a try with its Learn to Ski and Ride Week Jan. 14-18. If the stunning views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra crest and the acres of neophyte-friendly terrain weren't enough of an incentive to get on Diamond Peak's lifts, here's the clincher: First-time skiers and boarders can get everything they need to get started – lift, lessons and rental gear – for $25 during those five days (Diamond Peak's usual beginner's package is $74). Reservations are not required – and no one will be turned away.
