Cannon Mountain Is On A Roll

By Roger Leo on December 4, 2007

New Hampshire's Cannon Mountain has more than half its trails open, and revenues are up 75 percent over this time last year.

“We’re on a roll like we haven’t seen the last five or six years,” Cannon's GM John DeVivo said. “We’ve got some good early season momentum and we’re going to ride that as hard as we can.”
Cannon opened with a couple of trails and one lift last season, he said. This year, the area had 22 trails open by the first week of December, with another six opening Dec. 5 and Tuckerbrook projected to be open by weekend of Dec. 7.
The healthy trail count makes the area’s traditional two-for-$60 price on Tuesdays and Thursdays seem even better.
Never mind the tram won’t start until Dec. 21; snowmaking is moving onto the upper mountain, and Cannon hopes to have trails open there and the Cannonball Express Quad operating by the weekend of Dec. 7. Stay tuned.
