Winter storm dumps snow across northern Vermont.
Jay claims annual snowfall of more than 400 inches, which it says is the greatest snowfall of any New England resort.
It's looking at a good possibility of three feet of snow by the time the most recent storm winds down and leaves town.
Jay regulars attribute the plentiful powder to the mountain’s stand-alone status just south of the Canadian border, where its sharp slopes form a barrier to arctic air masses and induce heavy snowfall.
The area has three lifts and 34 trails open, with more expected by the day. The Hotel Jay is offering a package for $90 that includes lodging, lift ticket, breakfast, and dinner. Call 800-451-4449 for details.
