This northern Minnesota ski and golf resort continues to expand.
Giants Ridge’s new 10-year master plan, unveiled to shareholders late this past spring, envisions a new mountain top village with 300 units; a base resort village with 340 new units; a water park; additional lodging; ice skating rink; and more housing along the lake.
The resort is also home to two of the Midwest’s finest golf courses, in addition to great downhill and cross-country skiing. Giants Ridge was initially built in the 1980s with money set aside to help spur new business in the economically depressed Iron Range of Minnesota. It’s been a boon to the region in both employment and bringing new money and business into the area, and its still growing. It was money well spent.
