Ian Thorley, a Marquette, Michigan, snowboarder who has been moving up the world rankings, is one of only 14 riders from around the world selected to compete in the second annual Icer Air extreme competition at Giants Stadium in San Francisco Nov. 2-3. Jonny Moseley, Olympic gold medalist and recent inductee to the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame and Snowboarding, is one of the organizers of the event. The scaffold they launch from stands taller than the scoreboard overlooking San Francisco Bay. Thorley honed his skills at Marquette Mountain, which is well known among Heartland riders for its big air opportunities. You can follow the competition at www.icerair.com.
