Iowa's Ski Areas Just Fine, Thank You

By jd on February 28, 2007

Although it seems the big snow-laden storms have passed for the moment, Iowa's ski areas are still sailing along on healthy base totals and the enthusiasm of local skiers and boarders.

Sundown Mountain in Dubuque boasts an average base of 30 to 60 inches with guests skiing on machine groomed. Their two Terrain Parks are also cooking, with 10 rails and fun boxes, seven jibs and a wall. The halfpipe is also open.

Fun Valley is currently open Thursday to Sunday only. Seven Oaks has 24-30" down with three of four lifts running and a dusting of fresh snow landing since the weekend. More weather is predicted, whether or not it brings snow with it remains to be seen.
