Bear Creek Re-opens for Holiday Weekend

After opening for four days in mid-December, Macungie's Bear Creek reopens today at 4 p.m. with five trails of beginner and intermediate terrain. In the past, the MLK holiday has proved a popular time for the resort and Bear Creek hopes to keep the snow through the weekend.

Bear Creek Mountain Resort, Macungie, Pa., invested more than $700,000 in terrain park upgrades for this season. The mountain's three individual terrain parks, Cascade Park, Black Bear Park and Grizzly Family Park, encompass more than 13 acres and offer more than 30 custom features that suit every level of freestyle skier or snowboarder.
