Donate some canned goods and get a free lift ticket at Timberline or Mt. Hood Skibowl.
The Portland Police Department’s Sunshine Division has been helping the city’s needy families for nearly 100 years, beginning in 1923 as an agency supplying emergency food and clothing and evolving into a nonprofit group that assists 25,000 people and 40 charities on an annual basis. You can help out the Sunshine Division – and save a little cash in the bargain – by bringing four cans of food to Timberline or Mt. Hood Skibowl Friday, March 7. In response, the resorts will give you a lift ticket gratis. Timberline and Skibowl are hoping to collect 8,000 pounds – that’s four tons, folks – of canned goods.
