Mt. Bachelor, OR: Voted Best Terrain Park

By OnTheSnow on April 22, 2008

Orinda, California: Who has the best terrain parks at any Pacific Northwest ski resort according to visitors to OnTheSnow.com, the oldest and most-visited snow sports portal on the Internet? They're at Mt. Bachelor, Ore. The Web site, which attracts an audited 1.2 million individuals monthly during the winter, gave its visitors the opportunity to write reviews of all North American resorts and rank them in five categories.

The ratings were based primarily on readers' average ranking, number of reviews, and specific comments made in OnTheSnow.com over the winter season.

"More and more skiers and snowboarders are relying on the word of their peers when they make resort choices," said Mountain News President and Publisher Rob Brown, whose company publishes OnTheSnow.com. "We believe the importance of reader advisories will continue to grow each year and these annual awards provide a peek into their thinking."

This reviewer was clear in his comments: "What a day! Yesterday I rode Bachelor in the afternoon. Slightly overcast with no wind - the snow was fast and the terrain was spectacular….The new park off I-5 is sick!"

Mt. Bachelor, near Bend, Ore., is one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest ski areas. It has a top elevation over 9,000 feet and carries skiers and riders on 13 lifts. There are three terrain parks.
