Lutsen has one of the longest winter seasons in the Heartland staying open until mid-April. They are the one Midwest ski resort that gets about half their skier and rider visits after March 1, which is about the time most of the Heartland ski areas are starting to think about shutting down for the season.

Lutsen, which enjoys some of the best spring skiing in the Heartland, has its Spring Carnival scheduled for Saturday, March 31. Activities include a costume contest, family fun race, giant deck party and fireworks. It’s the perfect spring break and skiing and riding will be at its best.
