This could be the last weekend of skiing for the Iowa areas. Fun Valley has been closed March 12 through the 16th and they may not be open for the St. Patty's Day weekend blasts, they're advising guests to call ahead for info before setting out.

Helped along by what has come to be known as the "Valentines Day Bouquet," Iowa's ski areas are doing just fine, thank you very much, and may be in line for some more snow later this week.

Feel it? A Winter weather window opened up across the snow deprived Midwest and East overnight, giving Iowa ski areas hope and sending them racing to their snow guns.

Iowa's Seven Oaks ski area is up and running on a marginal but still skiable base. They're skiing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and were able to make enough snow recently to give them sufficient base.
