No new snow to report but temperatures remain cool enough to hold the inch or so that fell last week and for Iowa ski areas it's business as usual. Ski Seven Oaks and Sundown Mountain are open for skiing and riding and the locals are taking advantage.

Helped along by what has come to be known as the "Valentines Day Bouquet," Iowa's ski areas are doing just fine, thank you very much, and may be in line for some more snow later this week.

A little natural snowfall and their own snowmaking crews have helped Fun Valley Ski Area in Montezuma, Iowa pinpoint a Dec. 9 opening date.

This could be the last weekend of skiing for the Iowa areas. Fun Valley has been closed March 12 through the 16th and they may not be open for the St. Patty's Day weekend blasts, they're advising guests to call ahead for info before setting out.
