Courchevel has the best conditions of the season so far thanks to a foot (30cm) of fresh snow and lowering temperatures maintaining the perfect powder. This bodes well for a number of major international competitions lined up at the leading French resort over the next month.

Come and enjoy the art work of the pistes bashers,” enthuses a spokesman for the world’s largest ski area in France, shared by the resorts of Courchevel, Meribel, Val Thorens, Les Menuires and others.

On the road connecting Meribel with Courchevel, Agnès and Robert Burdet have opened a new restaurant called Le Plantin, in the area known by the same name.
